Back to the board meeting.....................

You got enough money from your insurance to pay many years premiums and your going to drop---In my opinion you have Rocks In your Head if you do drop it---But its all your problems if one comes threw again---your getting older well I know I would not like to be in your shoes ,you could be down sick and have to pay some one to a lot of things that your policy would cover Or you mite be gone and then it would be up to your wife to do every thing !

Death Ins.Co make big money on them little words like "could, might,or,maybe and so on" I'm getting older and my house is getting older (80yr.) too.The money I made on them is just what they except me to do,Give it back to them.Look at it this way when I had my warehouse's built I self insured my self.Insuring the warehouse's with a Ins.CO would have cost me $3000.00 a year.I had $50,000 aside incase something happen. After 17yr.and selling the business the money is still there plus interest.I would have payed Ins.Co $51,000 in that time period. So if my house burns down are wind get to it I'll just buy a mobile home and put in it's place. If I die Betty will no be in bad shape.I think I got every thing covered.I didn't do bad in my life time.

Life is good

and not have to make a loan on a house or business they don't have to pay for insurance to cover the damages and like you said, Putting the money away and drawing int was your own way of protection, but the problem with that is most of us have to carry insurance if we have a mortgage and like Social Security, if we could have paid into our own retirement fund...we would be far better off on a monthly income than the pittance I get off mine and my ex's SS paid in by me and him when the wages were extremely low! He paid most of his SS in with good wages after divorced ten years! Saved when we could and I did after the divorce but still am in debt on my house, so have to have ins coverage according to the mortgage company! The laws have people trapped and it is hard to get out from under them when once becoming a slave to the gov't's ways that those who make the laws don't have to live by! :veryangry: :ranting:  Ma Betty

Before you make a Solid Decision you should check out the Laws on Replacing a House with a Mobile Home. Here and lots of Areas in this state make it EXtremely hard to do that---So hard that it is almost impossible to get it done without spending a lot of TIME and money for permits I think it still against the city code where I live to try to put in any Double Wide or bigger (Only single wides are allowed- I have Not seen any bigger)--- A married couple when they tried to put in a Mobile Home in place of their house that had burned down they had to comply with all the new laws that had been passed since there house was built 70 years before-It was a log house---One thing I remember was they had to replace there whole Water system including a new Drilled well and put in a new entrance Road because the water system that was already in would have conflicted with the new road---I can't remember why they had to put a basement in and had put there Mobile on top of it, But It was like it was sitting on stilts after it was completed---Besides that they had to bring the inspector Back many times because each time he came out, He came up with something different that they had to comply with, In the way of some kind of a different permit that he would bring up---The wife worked with me doing Janitorial for the High School---There were more problems that I can't remember and I can no longer ask about because I no longer work at the High School And they both have passed away ! If it is any thing there like it is here you will Pull your hair out before you can live in it ! (That is IF you have any hair left after living this long) The house insurance paid there living expenses till they did get to move in But she was Highly P%& off all the time about all the things they to do to get moved in but I guess you will find out about all of that if you ever try to put one in !
