Back in the Saddle Again!!!!

Thanks to my fine friends at Detector Depot in Knoxville TN, I received my brand spanking new Excal II today!!!

It has been almost 4 months of a wait but Kristi pulled some strings for me and, like an 18 karat tone, she came thru loud and clear!!!

After the demise of my old Excal, there will be a learning curve. According to my air tests, this one has some different tones from my old Excal. It may be the headphones. I was running GrayGhosts on the old one. I will use the stack Koss headphones so as to not void the warranty. It seems to discrim pulltabs better but I will need to boost the threshold to detect necklaces, something I used to do with my old Excal anyways...

Tomorrow will be my first time out. Terri and I will go to the beach in the afternoon for 2-3 hours. The unit is nearly fully charged and I am chomping at the bitt!

Wish us luck!

Glad you got your machine. You're right on about Detector Depot they are great people to do business with. Now get that coil over the good stuff. Good Luck and HH. :minelab:

Steve could you elaborate on your technique for boosting the threshold to find chains? Thanks Herm
