Back at it after a few years

Got out with my daughter today. It’s been been a few years and she doesn’t remember detecting with me before. Shes kind of at that point where she is not holding on to those early memories anymore. It’s a trip, at some point she had that transition where she went from toddler to opinionated, smart, quick, sassy, kind child that can hold a conversation with people of all ages and is a truly a special and wildly individual person.

Anyhow, she’s 6 1/2 and learning to detect but mostly helping dig and collect as the detector was much too large for her today. I’m going to let her swing a Tesoro next time we go out. I was swinging an MX7 for the first time. We went down the street to a middle school and spent a couple hours digging. Weather was fantastic, almost shorts and tshirt weather. Nothing really remarkable but it was nice to get out with the kid and dig a few coins and she really likes the motorcycle. Also the little iron spear thing is neat but have no idea what it is 😂

Welcome back, BSD. Enjoy the time spending together with your daughter. Those together-times move very fast and will become rare. ('know what I'm talking about)
Good Luck to you both and hopefully you'll have tons of digs together.(y):twodetecting:

I took my son out when he was younger...in 20s now...He found a silver superman pendant and got a feature article in Whites metal detecting newsletter... and some nice gifts! Have fun while she is young...glad I took the time to do those things...

Cherish those memories.
Miss the little ones.

They are blessings from God. I have another one, a son, that’s 5 1/2 years behind, just turned 1 over the holidays. Eventually we will have every spot thoroughly covered here 😂. It’s another nice day, and we homeschool so probably going to hit a park later.
