I would say that axe dates back into the 1800’s most likely.
It looks longer than modern ones.
I have found some that are long and they came from old 1800’s house sites.
The tip of the blade is s 5 1/2” wide.

Probably shingle hatchet with that size blade. Used to make shingling shingles for covering roofs. I have one. A carpenters hatchet ahs a hammer head . Your date sounds good.
