ATTENTION TROOPS. I know some of you have purchased a 10x14 Eccelerator coil for the 250 and others..

have expressed an interest in it. Well it looks like I'll be field testing it shortly so after I'm done maybe I can fill in the voids and answer the unanswered questions.

Fantastic Bill! If you wouldn't mind, could you try whipping the coil over targets once you have found them to see if the width of the signal is useful at IDing coins from other targets? Thanks. I'm interested in this coil and have been contemplating buying it.
Mick Evans.

Thank you for taking on this project. I would be interested on finding our how to separate a bottle cap signal from a quarter signal.

I'd be interested in your opinion of this coil over the largest 9x12 factory that I'm currently using, and haven't taken off since last season.

I've been using the Excelerator 10x14 for about two months on my Ace 250. It seemingly does better in the mineralized soil here in New Mexico, but I don't believe it is any better than the stock 9x12 coil depth wise. It is harder to pinpoint with it, especially when there is a lot of trash nearby. In any case, it will be nice to read someone else's take, hopefully from an area with a lot less mineralization.

Awesome!:super:Have fun field testing that Excellerator for the Ace!:detecting:It's ALOT lighter than the Garrett 10"x14"double"D"s, but the Garrett's are built to last forever:garrett::usaflag::thumbup:

I've been using it on my GTAx1250 and it works great. I don't know if I'm doin' any damage to it or my detector in the long run because the Excellerator is made for the Ace's 6.5 kHz and the GTAx runs at 7.2 kHz, but so far so good:shrug:

Is your field test report going to be published in Lost Treasure magazine or elsewhere? I'm looking forward to reading it.:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

Happy to hear that. I've been trying to decide since Januaryon the big Garrett coil or the Excelarator. So far I've been hitting mostly New Jersey beaches but I'm starting to do more parks and inland MDing. Its a considerable price difference (that of a sniper coil) between them. Looking forward to your findings.

All DD's love bottlecaps so there ain't no way around that one. I expressed that in my field test of Garrett's DD some time back.

This is by far the easiest coil to pinpoint with. I tore up using this coil and would recommend it highly. Pinpoint and pop that easy.

Yeah Garrett's coil is heavy. I field tested that puppy a few years back in Lost Treasure. I'm doing this coil for Kellyco and as far as I know they don't have tests in the treasure mags. I suppose they could since they are a major advertiser. They may just print it up in their catalog as they have done before. I'll have to ask JW and see. I'm looking forward to trying it out.
