AtPro depth implosion?

Time to turn some finds into $'s or sumptin' to pop for a dedicated water unit. For all around I'd recommend the CZ 21 or maybe the EXcal 2 for you. I am a believer in PI machines and own a modded PI Pro but not so good for you Mud.You do freshwater and can get some really great depth with either the CZ or Excal. I own and use all of them and If I lived and hunted the great freshwater lakes only I would not need the PI. The CZ will work as a land unit albeit way heavy. My Excal is modded with GGA's and remote pinpoint switch in the handle, all mounted on a carbon fiber shaft with a 3 piece travel rod as back up. What I'm saying is if you are going to get all invested and certified then get the water unit and don't waste your air. The ATP is great but the two I recommend will be more user friendly and smoke it diving.

I need to know!

Lots of us are seriously thinking of going subsurface this year, Scuba that is, 20' max I figure, and I would really like to take the Pro with me...sure, its rated for 10'...but a guy has to think there were some destructive tests done and the standard rig held up at at least 15-20' right?

All mfgs underrate these kind of specs so a guy dont take it to the max and incur a disasterous warrantee problem...even a vague reply is better than nothing, like "rated for 10', mfg with a +5' cushion, after 15' you are on your own"

I would like to know for sure! I'd love it if somebody from Garrett or in the know even PM'd me the actual destructive tests regarding AtPro depth implosion/failure...and I promise to not let the info out to the general public...

I figure a heavy grease on the batt box Oring seal would help, and maybe a wrap of tape, or some other knowledgeable advice regarding where the physical depth failure occurred and at what depth? Was it in the coil or batt box oring seal? Faceplate?...

I dont want to be the guinea pig if I can help it! Heading over to the dive shop this afternoon..surely somebody knows, so help a Brother out here if you do!...:please:.
Mud

I have flip flopped over the water hunting thing for a while now myself. I still don't know if I care all that much. I suppose it will be whatever it will be. I just like that I don't have to cover it all up in mud covered plastic bags in the rain, lol. Good luck.

Look at it this way. 33 ft of depth = 14.5 - 14.7 (depending on who's opinion you use) pounds per square inch of pressure. 1/3rd of that is just under 5 psi. Multiply that by the surface area of your display...what....6 square inches ? So at 10 feet, you're already putting 30 pounds of pressure on it. Go to 20 ft and you're at 60 pounds...how deep do you think you're going to get with every foot of extra depth putting another 3 pounds of pressure on it ? Let us know how it goes, ok ? :)
