Not much into Garrett detectors so I was wondering can you still find gold finds with the At pro vs. the At gold ? Same way with the At gold can you find silver as well as the At pro? What are the frequencies on both? So which one should someone pick for all around use. Can only afford one  .Do both come with the same coil ?Thank you CJM

At Pro is 15 khz At Gold is 18 khz I think. I have a Pro and relic hunt with a guy who uses the Gold. It about even as far as finds go. I think he said the Gold only has one tone. I don't hunt by tones, I go by the #'s. I used the Viper coil today and love it.

Hmmm, not knowing anything about Garretts coils can you tell me what is the size? Also have you ever had repairs with the Garrett shop?

i've had an at pro and an at gold. I liked the gold much better than the pro, i just didn't get along with it. I did find a lot of stuff with the gold. One of my favorite machines

I owned an AT Pro and liked the operation of it and found it to be a very good machine for overall hunting. Now if you are mainly hunting tot lots, parks, relic or beach hunting it will more than perform to your liking. But if you want to hunt for small gold nuggets and such, you really need to invest in a detector primarily for that type of hunting. The only thing I disliked about the AT Pro is how the coil and headphone connectors attached to the rear of the control box. It is a real booger to get to them to detached and re-attach because it is so tight to get to.
