would be to get the concentric Elliptical coil. Although I don't have the AT myself, I found that these coils on the Ace 250 made sorting aluminium screw caps from coins pretty easy. You go into pinpoint and listen to the fade as you pull the coil back. Screw caps give a longer fade than coins/rings. I can't see why the AT would be any different. The effect is more noticeable on the larger coil.

When this happens to me, I turn on the audio iron button on and 99.9% of the time , I get a loud iron grunt. I do on occasion dig it up to confirm it's not a good target and I always get a confirmation that it's not. This is true for all types even the older ones .

I really hate the gold /brass colored ones. To think I found a class ring til I remove dirt from it.
