Artillery shells and theTejon

Holey dollar,

With all due respect I understand your concern. I know that unexploded ordinance is a worldwide problem and is tragic. But you must understand that American Civil war Antique ordinance is not the same as the ones found in Vietnam, Europe, Iraq, ect,...,
The more modern ordinance is made with HIGH EXPLOSIVES not black powder. They are not the same!!! I repeat they are not the same!!! The only people who have ever been injured or killed with AMERICAN CIVIL WAR ANTIQUE ORDINANCE ARE PEOPLE WHO DRILL THEM and even that is very very rare. Again I understand your concern but I hope you do a little research and understand the difference.

Best Regards,

This is a quote from an ordinance specialist about American Civil war shells:

"You can't drop these things on the ground and make them go off," said retired Col. John F. Biemeck, formerly of the Army Ordnance Corps. (Referring to American civil war ordinance)

I agree with VA as I said b4 and will say again these shells will not explode "UNLESS YOU TRY TO DEFUSE THEM" I have dug one to many and have friends that have dug just as many as me if not more, I have anywhere from 200 pound parrots to 12 pound howitzers 60 percent of them had fuses all are "INERT" now. All I will say is if you are going to dig ordance use your head and common sense, dont be stupid, and you should be just fine.
