Are fairgrounds good areas to hunt?
did I mention this is the 152nd year it has been at that location?
Makes no difference how long a place has been there. That kind of info could even be worse for people looking for something of a "relic" type of hunt or anything else. I've spilled the beans before about where I live. Town is one thing but your "special" spots KEEP TO YOURSELF!!!:surrender:
It's a yank site, with a yank brand of detector that most Aussies look down on!:clapping: While they're running around with an Aussie brand of detector, thinking that the sun shines out of it, I'm cleaning up and can talk about any site or unique tricks that the Ace has over it, without creating competition for myself.:csflag::thumbup:

You just might find a whole bunch of filled in holes when you finally gets there. There are lots of lurkers here. :)
Agree. I did some searching on my map programs and a few other places from the map that was shown of the fairgrounds. I could be there before you if I want.......:yikes:
you and a couple others here are making me not want to be on this forum.

With only an inch or so of snow on the ground and your temps you should be able to do some swinging. Wish I had your weather. We got 6 + inches yesterday and it's falling again this morning. At least the temp is up to freezing now.......ha ha

My mom and dad came from Columbus not too far away........

you and a couple others here are making me not want to be on this forum.
First let me say welcome to this forum. I hope you have lots of success with your new detector. You can learn a lot of good tricks and tips here. I treat MDing like the miners of old treated their gold strikes. I go to town (this forum) show and brag about my finds but leave no trail as to where I found them. This is a very competitive sport. Good spots are hard to come by. Half the posters on here can't hunt right now because of weather. Some are Internet sleuths. They like to try and find where someone lives by the clues they leave in pictures and posts. As soon as I saw your picture I got on the net, Goggled the park and golf course and found out just where that fairground was. Why, cause I can, I like the challenge. Will I go there. No, I Iive in California. Where exactly? Try and find me. But you can bet your bottom dollar if I lived near enough and didn't know about it I'd be there too. Don't blame the folks on here for pointing something out to you, they are just trying to help.

YEP! You should always be a contrairian! That's how you make money on the share market and detecting!. (Have done the former yet, but working on it.)
Mick Evans.
