Didnt want to forget how to use the F75 so put on the NEL Sharpshooter and started crashing the fauna. Put it in Plowed Field mode, Sens at 99, disc at 10, and 3H tones. Took me 10 minutes and dug a deteriorating 45-70 case (stamped 45-70). Kept zigzagging around and hit a few more pennies and then the 50s era ‘06 blanks.
Pennies all hit loud and clear at 5-6” and they VDI very close to the brass cases. Finally hit a couple of those big ol lead 45 bullets and they were low 50s. Had two interesting finds, one made my heart skip a beat.
Hit a 29-30 VDI and thought nickel. Dug quite aways down and caught a glimpse of a gold colored round object about the size of a penny, c’mon $1 gold coin! Nope, stupid button….. might be older as only one small metal loop on the back. Next was a dime signal that ended up a shotgun case head.
Once home and items cleaned I had two 60 and two 61 pennies so thinking silver still in the future. The shotgun head was a Peters Victor 16 ga made between 1915-1927 so aging in the area is consistent.
Next safari in the fauna will be low frequency Legend excursion.
