AQ1B detector questions

I have an AQ1B unit that works very well underwater or on land but have had challenges in the surf. I was told this detector wasn’t designed for the surf but curious if anyone here has tried it.

Also what is the smallest item you have been able to detect and have you been able to pick up fine gold chains? I’m wondering if it acts differently with an air test vs an actual underwater test.

Most detectors act differently in an air test........they are more vulnerable to electrical interference when the coil is pointing into mid air giving different results.Always better to do a thorough in ground test.

Thanks Nauti. I’m going to test the AQ1B on the sand with a medium gold chain. I do like the pulse induction for saltwater.
