I see kelly co is offering a DD coil for the ace 250 now, just curious if anyone has it yet, or knows more about it

EQ2 Pro Search Coil - nope looks interesting though. 10 X 14 dd coil. That's about the size of the factory coil isn't it??

I think it's the same one for the GTP 1350 and GTI series?:garrett:

Another addition to add to my arsenal?

Heck I haven't even gotten the sniper yet!

I would like to know more about this coil as well...for a future purchase of course:biggrin:

Mine came in on Friday, but we are still frozen here in Iowa.
Suppose to be 50's tomorrow and Weds. I will try it and let you know.

It sure is bigger than the one that came with the 250.

Look forward to seeing if it strikes deep, I wonder about the fact it's a WS coil though. Also FYI if you have a signal and open the hole and it goes away KEEP digging! Darn WS coils are known for losing the target once you open the hole.

It's not much bigger than the 9x12, so not sure if it's worth it or not.
I don't know what advantage being a double D might offer as far
as depth.
I'm wondering why they don't sell the largest coil 18x15 for the ace machines.
That one would be interesting to try as a super depth relic coil.
But they don't list it for the ace machines.
I already have the 9x12, so I'm not sure if I want to pay $170 for a coil
that is really not that much bigger. Might be worth an extra inch maybe?
I dunno.. I'd be wanting to hear first hand test reports before I plunked
down the change for one.

was looking at the aussie site for the explorer sef 8x6 and saw a ,I think 12x15...sef for the ace....man that is BIG!!!!!!!

Yeah now that I think about it. That is freakin to huge. I think I might just get the Smaller 9X12. I don't hunt many places where I can use a big coil like that. I usually just use the stock coil anyway. I have the sniper coil. But I like the Stock coil better.

There is also a SEF butterfly coil available too. It's a 12x15 coil. I would use these big coils on sand beaches, sand volleyball courts and sports fields. But after giving the 9x12 coil a shot after it sat in my closet for 2 years it's great! It does cover the ground, goes deep and pinpoints dead on. I now only use the sniper or 9x12 coil. The stock coil has been retired. Plus the 9x12 coil's cost is about $100 less than the other coils. That savings will buy you a Propointer! I have mild soil so the concentric coil works good.
But I might try one of these big DD coils someday?

I don't see a 12x15 listed for the ace machines. Is there one for the
ace 250 that I'm missing somewhere?
Wish they made the 15x18 in an ace 250 version. If I were to
buy a coil bigger than the 9x12, might as well go for the gusto..
It needs to be a good bit bigger than the 9x12 to make it worth spending the money.
They are listing the big ones for $220.. Not exactly chump change, considering
the Garrett 9x12 is less than half that if I remember right.
To me, the 10x14 that they do list for the ace 250 is not big enough for me to
really want to spend $170 for one. It would have to be one wang doodler of a hot
coil for me to cough the change. In theory, I only see it doing an extra inch
or two at best, unless I'm missing something about double D coils.
Now, the 12x15, it's getting large enough to be almost worth thinking about..
Should be good for an extra three inches if it's a good coil.
The 15x18 even better.. That would be a good open field relic coil as long
as you could swing it fast enough to get your max depth, and thus moneys worth
out of it.
