I have had my Kenmore washer and dryer since the mid 70's! Moved here in 1974 and bought a new washer and then a new dryer to match a couple years later! The dryer is still going...did have a little work done on it ....one set of new rollers put in by a friend and my washer conked out in Dec 07 and purchased a new one from Sears during their sale and discount days with free delivery! I don't imagine it will last as long as the other one but neither will I being already 76 years young....so won't matter! I like the older agitators going back and forth because this one pumps up and down too much and tangles the clothes up in the spin dry cycle! Proabably wear my clothes out faster but does get them clean! I had an Amana upright freezer bought in 1964 that just quit on me this year...won't be replaced as the newer ones are way too expensive for my pocketbook and still have a working 1960 Kelvinator refrig with one door over the box and freezer and has to be defrosted by me...so didn't have all the goodies on it to wear out quickly! Wish you the best of luck with whatever you buy to replace your old washer! Also, had to replace my 1974 refrig in Dec. 07, too! It had to have a part replaced in 1986 concerning the freezing and keeping the food cold which lasted many years afterwards! May our Lord be good to you always! Amen! Ma Betty
