The weather here has been either been wet, cold or both. Sooooooooo I decided to check out my friends old house in the attic. Besides lots old type insulation I found some screws, mouse trap & wire.....I found this! I dont know anything about it and neither does the owner of the house. Its about the size of a US half dollar with a screw button back. I know someone will!

I'll say one thing. Attic finds are sure perserved better than dirt ones! Congratulations James. I'm not going to detect my attic though.

Attic........
I know people do wall hunting.......For years people didn't believe in banks and would hide items even savings in the walls.

This is actually productive in site built from the 1700's into the 1900's.

Why: People would die suddenly by farm accidents, ect....... The family wouldn't know where the savings were hidden.

In 1901, Hill left Bishop Scott Academy and founded the Hill Military Academy on Marshall Street in Portland.[2] John W. Gavin served as the vice principal and headmaster at this time.[2] The school was incorporated in 1908, and Hill

One place to look in old houses for coins is in the walls under windows and any place kids could have pushed coins into the cracks. Some window jams had cracks to vent the window and are a common place to find coins. Idigid

Thanks all for tthe info and comments....

Finally, a halfway decent day here so out I went....about 60 coins, nothing special....maybe I going to look thru more attics?

My sister bought an older house a number of years ago. She asked me to check her attic. I found an old dime store 22 cal. rifle and a Mason jar with 8 Morgan silver dollars. She let me keep both items.:surrender:
