Anyone ever encounter this problem??

Found a silver rope chain that is frozen. Uasually after washing all the sand out they are fine, except this one.

Any thoughts on dissolving ??? to release all the links ??

Maybe vinegar or how you normally clean your silver. Then an oil. WD-40.
Never seen that.

Try a mix of vinegar and salt. Seems to work well on coins and silver. I've even cleaned up a good percentage of eaten up zincolns enough to get them through a coin machine.
Rinse with water and baking soda after the vinegar and salt.

Yeah, that must have been there for a while to get frozen like that. Was it dark Grey or Black when you found it? I wish you would have posted a picture of it before cleaning. That's interesting.

YesI found found 1 that was frozen like that this year. Vinegar worked for me.

Electrolysis would be my next method. The Whydah Pirate Museum has a superb setup. A great tour if you ever make a trip to Cape Cod.

Tumble it I did that with a ID bracelet came out like new I use CLR works great
