Anyone else wondering why no tone I'd on the mojave

Agreed. If they came out with an I.d machine equal to the Ace 250 it would rock the market.

Just my .02 but my first detector was the ace 350 and the first time I hunted with my compadre I stopped using the ace and ended up selling it off.
Not to bash the ace models but they were so slow. You could go over 2 coins that were 3-4" apart and get one tone.
Their newer models seem to be faster like the 300 and 400 so that's good but they seemed to be really late to the party.
I loved my ace before I had used anything else.
But the tesoros can't be beat for recovery time and disc abilities.
Again, I mean no disrespect to Garrett but for the price I paid for my ace 350 I could have had a cibola which I ended up getting along with a plethora of other machines listed below. Not to mention if you buy new you have a lifetime warranty which noone can beat.
In conclusion I too hope Tesoro finds a way to keep their machines quick but add tones, but that shouldn't be confused with me saying I won't use them without it.

Once you've used tesoros for a while you can tell the difference between targets even with the one tone.

I have my nokta and makro detectors too which offer all the things you guys have mentioned and I enjoy them, but there's a reason I still have and always will have tesoros.

on the Mojave, having a fixed lower tone for Iron would have been nice. Nothing that you could adjust though. Perhaps that's why it's not there, because with that GB switch from high to low, the fixed tone setting for iron may not work as well... but I don't know.

Regarding tones in general, I own the Golden and I like it, but it's a shallow machine with GB adjustment (on the outside). It definitely has its uses, especially for park hunting, but if you don't dig everything above iron, you could miss gold, so many who dig it all say they don't really need tones... but I
Ike them.

Now concerning an adjustable tone break feature... I think this would really only make sense on something like the Tejon, that has two discriminatory, or else you use a stacked/double knob like on the Pantera. The point being, with tone break, you want to disc out lower conductors and then use a tone break feature for stuff ABOVE where you the disc set. On the Tejon, I would love to see a mode switch added that would let you use it as it is now, or switch it into "tone break mode" and use it as I just described.... that would be pretty cool, and useful I think, as an option.

I agree a seperate tone for iron is beneficial.

Not for anything but since the Cazador was announced years ago we have already seen the release of the Outlaw and Mojave.
No one saw them coming and yet the Cazador was said to be coming soon.
I want to return to Tesoro when I see something truly new.
l loved my old Royal Saber which had tone ID that was great.
I suspect if we get a CAZ it will have tone id.
Tesoro has done tone ID in the past and it was great.

I waited and waited for a tone Tesoro and finally a year and a half ago got a great deal on a Minelab Xterra 705. This has become my primary machine. I still use my Vaquero when I cleaned up the site with the Xterra. I really like having a tonal machine that will block out most iron, which is a problem her. I have been much more successful noyt digging so much junk since I got the Minelab Xterra.

Just one other point that is a lost art. Since finding deep targets without so much trash is a valid concern for Tesoro users, a trick used by some Tejon, Cibola, or maybe Vaq users is to set the disc where iron just breaks up and then double checking it in pinpoint or a/m mode, then comparing the sound quality (tonal comparison). Monte has a good article on this. Sooooo, a pinpoint, while not necessary, would have also been a valuable tool. Does anyone get it that some of us Tesoro fans are giving constructive ideas, NOT bashing. Heck, I wouldn't even post if I didn't care!

.... but I really think the Mojave is Tesoro's new introductory level machine and that many of the other features we are hopeful for will appear on the next new release.

Yeah who wouldn't want a $600 to over a Thousand dollar machine for $251? Guys it is what it is. Ya lays your $ down and make it work.
The ageless Compadre might be taking a stroll into the sunset.

Are any of the rumors true about them not having the parts to make enough Mojave detectors?
Not trying to spread the rumor just asking if anyone has actually spoken to them and found any truth to this.

They are on hold until the parts ordered come in- so they say. :smoke:

Hmmm. No Mojave for me then lol.
Maybe if they get to a point where they have steady supply I'll get one.

I'm sure their next machines coming out soon will have other options and possibly the tones you guys are wanting.

Hopefully. Unfortunately, at my age, I'm detectored out!:) I gave up on waiting and enjoy my MX5. Today I spent all my time with the Compadre and even found a ring- albeit costume. So use to the tonal differences I know if I had the money I would enjoy the Mojave. And I still enjoy my Royal Sabre and run it with the tones to split at most tabs. Too bad the lowest discrimination level is bottlecap. The Mojave setup would have been so much lighter!

Well Sling, you could sell or trade one of your detectors if you wanted a Mojave. But what's this about no parts to make more Mojave's ? Something's might be up cause I've been waiting for over a week on availability.

I understand this usually happens when a sudden rush on buying happens. Just marketing strategy. Parts will catch up with demand shortly.
