Anybody use a pinpointer

Monte, how do the Nokta and Makro differ? They look very similar other than their color.
The Makro Pointer has four Sensitivity levels, and the Nokta has 10. The Nokta pointer also comes with the orange cap end and orange tip covers, plus it has the audio alert should you leave it behind somewhere. It can get slightly better depth and performance, but I honestly enjoy using them equally, and not with their maximum Sensitivity setting.

Thank you, Monte! I've been curious about those.
Happy with my Garrett "carrot" and TRX, but may have a look at the Nokta & Makro, if these give me any trouble.

I am just 4 weeks into my MD experience, and purchased a Makro PP at the same time when I ordered my Garrett Ace 200. So, I don't know any differently. I think it just makes the MD life a lot easier. Maybe with an entry level MD like the Ace 200, having a PP is a huge asset.

The good thing is by next Wed. or Thursday I should be taking delivery on a Tesoro Deleon, which according to the manual, it will pin point in the ALL Metal Mode. Right in the center of the coil.

All of the concentric coils will "pinpoint" right at the center. Once you get good with your DeLeon, you'll probably get so close that you'll be able to put your digger or probe straight down onto a shallow target. Be careful not to scratch it... I've done that too many times. You'll still be using your handheld pinpointer though, on many deeper and smaller targets.

I bought a 7 inch, what I would call a survival knife today, for 5 bucks, at a pawn shop. Holder for belt included. So, I figure with the DeLeon, the Makro PP, some practice, my footprint should be very small. It will be like I pulled the silver dime out, but like a magician.

I was detecting along a bluff one day . There were smallcavities in it . I got the bright idea to search them with a pinpointer . Yep ,I found a wheat penny in one .
