Anybody recognize this?

I'm told that this medallion is from one of the 12 step programs but I've never seen one before. Anybody recognize it?

:usaflag:Looks like a "33 year" AA token. That's a long stretch of being sober. I'm sure (and hope) they miss it.

The owner of that token has been sober since I was 10

It occurred to me that it might have been thought I was
making light of AA. I was not. Its a well tested organization that
has helped many a person save their lives from the debilitating
effects of alcohol. To anyone who was offended I apologize. No
offense was intended.

I took it back to the parking garage where I found it and gave it to the building manager. She's going to try to locate the owner. If that is indeed a medallion celebrating 33 years sober, it's gotta be very important to someone. /she's gonna let me know if she locates the owner

Hey that's not a Alcoholic Anonymous medal.

That is a Masonic Symbol! Anyone read the latest Dan Brown book - The Lost Symbol? "Above All Else, To Thine Own Self Be True" is a masonic pledge or something like that. The pyramid and the XXXIII gave it away for me. The 33rd degree of Freemasonry.... Google it )

Wow I feel like a real detective today :)

I wonder if the Masonic Lodge has it's on version of AA and had this token made for their members?
Its always possible.

Thanks to oldcoon, I now know that it is indeed a substance recovery token but the 33 on it denotes months, not years. Still a noteworthy accomplishment when you talk about addictions.

It is an AA token.

The number represent years not months.

Month tokens say months on them and only given the first year.

I have one in my pocket that says 25 years and I didn't get it medal detecting.

Thank you. I stand corrected. Oldcoon's post with the site confirmed it...

Oh well... got me excited for a minute. Still that is a very noteworthy find.

Cheers
