Anybody ever heard of this guy - Stan Grist

How do you join a webring that requires your input when you don't have much to input? I'm interested in learning more about gold prospecting, panning, sluicing, etc. but I don't have a lot of experience and it would be foolish of me to try to offer opinions on things I'm not an expert on?

just participation is asked on even only the most basic level.
We have many members that join to learn and that is what we are all about, along with sharing more advanced tips. The 10 post rule to view all categories has significantly decreased the number of spammers and non participating peeps looking for freebies and not giving back anything. As well as the pizzing matches so common to many sites.

I changed the format a year or so ago because we do not want to be a big commercial and money driven entity. That brings way too many problems.
You may also note that there is no member designation like "elite" or "advanced" member etc, therefore ego has less part to play in forum interaction.

Please feel free to join, i would be happy to have you there as we have few knowledgeable metal detecting members.

Metal detectors I know, especially anything to do with underwater detecting - gold panning I am a newbie for sure. Just realize that if I join I'll start running off at the mouth before you know it - getting me to talk is easy, getting me to shut the heck up is a bit more difficult.

I would appreciate your feedback about my web site. Please tell me what about it looks hokey.

Stan, your offer of free advice to anyone venturing your way certainly sounds legitimate. With that said, I came across your site when I was searching for metal detecting information for Thailand. Your site seemed to imbed detecting in Thailand into the body of the message, but when I looked at your home page, there was of course nothing about Thailand. It looks like someone fishing to find someone to buy something from you. You asked what looked hokey about your website and this is what I found:

"I'll reveal how I discovered millions of ounces of Inca gold and explain how you can go get as as much as you want too"

Millions of ounces? That is worth more than a billion and a half dollars today. Looks like you are pretty well set and I can understand you not asking anybody for any money; however, a million ounces just seems...hokey? If this is true, how about you spend a couple of thousand of your billion plus to fly me out and check out your claims. If what you say is true, then I will be able to pay you back with the first ounce and a half of gold that I find and can attest to your good nature. That way, you will be able to help out many more people who may have doubts about your sincerity and philanthropy. Looking forward to your reply...
