Any VX3 Fans Here?

The VX3 has been a great detector for me. It allowed me to get into the Spectra series on a budget. I purchased mine used with the D2 coil, but still have the alkaline batt. pack. Like others have said, the dd coil and rechargable battery pack upgrade alone are worth it, but that is for those who want the upgrades. Monte' made a good point for those that use multiple detectors, prefer the concentric coil, and have an endless supply of cheap alkalines.... Would I get the V3i, absolutely! Some of the features the V3i offers would be very much welcomed. In fact, I'll trade my Vx3 with D2 and DX-1 even up for that complicated V3i

"that complicated V3i".....have a feeling your not going to find that so......

Monte has a way of squeezing every ounce of performance out of a concentric because he has made himself so comfortable with them. "Comfort" is the most important adjustment of them all and bet that VX3 use has you closer than you suspect! My favorite concentric use is a 5.3 using TX Boost. Nastiest EMI just goes away and suprising depth in EMI/trashy spots that make others just balk rather than hunker down....yet another "frontier".

That last statement was in jest. I don't think they are complicated at all. In fact, I think the Spectra series helps those who want to learn more about the technical side of the hobby by allowing more user adjustments. I think that is a key feature of this machine, to be able to better tailor the detector to a given area than other deep detectors that do not offer such adjustments.

Less is more..... i got my vx3 bartering a guitar i bought 12 years ago for $300. I really like the vx3 over the dfx. More user friendly...
My anger issue..... my friends have cheap detectors and want to go hunting with me so they say we can split what we find.... everything that beeps with the 250 garrett i have to go over with my bad boy and school them .. users seems like. So... i drink alone... yeah with nobody else... George Thorogood

Your attitude about the adjustments "opening up understanding" on how a detector really works to make it all easy.......that's the best and most realistic approach I've ever seen stated around here. (My hat is off to you trip.) The dang machine is a thing of satisfying beauty.
