Any update on the 6" Terra coil?

Especially here in Carlsbad and Del Mar Calif. I try to hunt 2-3 mornings a week during the warmer weather. Usually 3 hours and I'm ready for a breakfast burito and a cup of coffee. Hopefully, I find enough to pay for it too!

Carlesbad and De Mar are a tad far from me. However, I can take the beach train from San Bernardino and go to San Clemente with the family for a day. They play on the beach while I hunt the dry and wet sand south of the pier.

I have never seen another detectorist while out there. Actually, I have never used my 70, but I understand(?) the standard coil is waterproof to about 20-inches; but I'm reluctant to work the wet sand with it as I sometimes get caught up in a larger wave. I do not want to chance getting the coilbox wet, so if I use my 70 at the beach I would only plan to hunt the drysand. Actually I bought my 70 to hunt
placer but it is currently "warmish" in the Randsburg area.

San Clemente is nice, I do well on clad there, but, not so well on gold. Today, I went to Del Mar for an hour-$1.10, no jewelry. On the way back, I hit Moonlite Beach in Encinitas and foud about $8 and a nice petite (5-1/2) gold (14k) ring with a nice Ruby (or Garnet, I can't tell the difference) and 2 small diamonds. It may actually be a ruby because it has a nice setting, very sturdy. This was my first gold of the year too. I had a feeling that I would be finding gold soon. And, my first diamonds of the year too. Another pretty ring for my collection! I can't wait for next week to get here. I'll be "raiding" San Clemente, Coronado Island and probably La Jolla Shores and Mission Beach too.

Plugger... Well I now know I find little at San Clemente... Please give me a little leeway and leave something for me (Grin).

It is currently too warm to go out to the desert and detect for gold.
So it is the local areas and the beach for me.
