Any Siesta Keys beach hunters here ??

Just got back from Sarasota Florida yesterday for a few rounds of golf. My buddy took me down to see the beach that I've always wanted to see. Holy Cow ! Theres probably 150 yrds or more from the concessions walkway till you hit the water. So the O'le adage of hunt the towel line to find goodies sure doesn't apply here, there are people everywhere planted in the sand. Volley ball courts to waters edge.. People, people, people...

Well especially if you go during spring break, you will find wall to wall people all along both the east and west coast beaches and it will be that way until after the first week in April. I'm not sure, but that last time I checked that area Especially Siesta Key, there were no metal detecting allowed. I'm located in Central Florida and rarely get over that way so if someone else has the skinny on detecting that area.

Not sure about that Mike; didn't see any postings about detecting upon entering the area and also passed by a detectorist hunting the wet sand area. Don't know if he is a local or vacationer and didn't stop for a chat to see how his luck was.

I would have definitely taken the time and asked questions.

I remember 20 or so years ago trying to detect Siesta Key, Fort Desoto beach and Sanibel Island and it was a no go. Fort Desoto was posted, can't remember about the other two.
