Any members in the Salt Lake City area????

a time or two each year. It will be interesting to hear what folks 'along the front" think of the V3 and which coils they find work best for them. I've only had one opportunity to find out but my August trip was cut short due to a bleeding eye problem. Most of my urban hunting from Ogden to Provo during the last several years has been handled by an XLT, 6000 Pro XL/XL Pro, MXT or a modified Classic III SL or IDX Pro. These same models have also served me well in an assortment of Utah and Nevada ghost towns and pioneer encampments.

Today, here in NW Oregon, the XLT and MXT seem to take care of most of my needs, and overall it has been the 5.3 BullsEye or Eclipse coils followed by stock 950's that have served me the best. The 6

Hi Monte, Larry (IL) suggested I get a hold of you to compare notes about the SLC area. I do indeed belong to a local detecting club but think I'm the only one in it using a V3. I have several coils to choose from (10" DD, 950, 6"x10" and 4"x6") and hunt anywhere I can. I've recently been hunting private properties.
I posted a thread a while back titled "Added Depth" hoping to get a few helpful hints to increase detection depth. Well I tried all the suggestions and found little to no improvements to the performance of the V3. On most outings I only get a few inches of depth. Most of my finds using 10" DD and 950 coils have been around 1"-2" deep and I've had a hard time with stability. Other Forum members have told me "maybe there's nothing in that area any deeper" but I know there is because other people I hunt with are finding items at 4"-8" that I'm not picking up.
Do you currently own a V3??? In your thread you stated you had V3's!

Thanks
Anthony

Hey there Anthony,

Drop and line and we'll find a spot or two to hunt.

Anthony - I live in SLC and use a Spectra V3. Have had success finding some gold and jewelry items. Have several of the v - tuned coils. My favorite is the 5'3 coil but they all serve their purpose. Can't wait until the ground gets soft again.Let's get in touch. jacall36@gmail.com
