Yeah...both coils are the 11 inch coils...I took off 7ozs off my Manticore 11in coil half the coil is nothing but plastic!!! Ridiculous!!! Now about the same weight as a 9in coil...WTG, good hunt for sure. Share a little info. Were both coils the same diameter? Were they over 6” or under. Just curious.
What's the pulltab range ? VdiThanks for the tip on the Manticore coil. You’re right about pul tabs. I have found the majority of my gold rings are in that range. My heavy larger gold comes in the zinc to copper penny range.
How do you know its gold?More gold both machines the D2/Manticore....View attachment 62197View attachment 62198
On the D2 I find pull tabs from 62 to 78 Nickels on my d2 are 62-63. On The manticore nickels 26-27 and pull tabs just above nickels. A good share of gold rings seem to fall from nickel thru pull tab numbers. Rings like pull tabs get caught up in the grass roots. In Sand they sink to china. What's the pulltab range ? Vdi
I have a gold tester....test anything for 6k to24k.....that gives me a idea...then the buyers have one that's $22000 that test the teeth or dental gold....How do you know its gold?
The extra bracing on the coil is intended to keep it super stiff and not allow it to change shape over time as it can affect the coil windings and become corrupted. Or so Ive read. In a day when manufacturers are finding every way they can to make machines lighter and lighter, I doubt they randomly said "hey, lets add an extra 7 ounces of weight to the coil for no good reason" There's a reason they have in mind, whether you know it or notYeah...both coils are the 11 inch coils...I took off 7ozs off my Manticore 11in coil half the coil is nothing but plastic!!! The dental gold was about 6-8 inches down...the ring was about 9-12 inches down solid 30 on the Manticore...Dig those pull tabs....that's the third ring to came as a pull tab...the dental was 15k to 18k gold...
Well it swings better now and definitely goes though the water better. The extra bracing on the coil is intended to keep it super stiff and not allow it to change shape over time as it can affect the coil windings and become corrupted. I bet that's a lot less drag now! Wonder if Coiltek will come out with a water hunting coil like the 14x9 they made for the Equinox line?Well it swings better now and definitely goes though the water better.
That's a good question....they do need to make something for the Manticore....I bet that's a lot less drag now! Wonder if Coiltek will come out with a water hunting coil like the 14x9 they made for the Equinox line?
