Another GTI 2000 question

I too have a GTI 2000 and its true you never hear anyone talk about them. I bought it used a couple years ago. Do the 2500's differ much from the 2000? How old are the 2000's? Is the 2500 a LOT better machine? Do I need to upgrade?
Thanks in advance

The 2500 is a much more stable unit, as it has an upgraded chip in it. Garrett will upgrade the 2000 to the 2500. I can't remember the cost though. maybe someone else could step in and give the price for the upgrade.

2000 has been around about 6-7 years and the 2500 is a tweaked version of the 2000. You can get an upgrade on your 2000 to 2500 specs. Don't know the cost but check with Mary at Garrett and she can fill you in. The 2000 is a perfectly capable machine unless you just want the new frills.

The cost for the upgrade was $250.00 in 2001 when I had it done. HH

I just had my 200 upgraded to the 2500. The cost is still 250.00. The processor and boards are upgraded and you get the back-light feature for the displat. I have definetly noticed a difference between the two. I can pick out nickles better than before and the upper coins ID better. I feel it was worth the it. Just my 2 cents.
