Andy's "Old coin" program,,,,do you like ?

Programed it in the other day and just was curious on how others used/liked it. Looks fairly narrow to me , more for cherry picking? (page 113)

Just a suggestion. Take all the coins and jewelery that you expect to find in your area like a dime, quarter, half, nickle ect. and different types of rings, chains both silver&gold and turn your screen all black then press accept and program the items in one at a time( a lot easier with a Sun-Ray probe) if not wave them over your coil until you get them all in. This is a killer way to cherry pick if you don't have a lot of time. You may not like it but try it out then if you don't care for it cancel it. You will not be bothered with a lot of junk. I set my gain on 24 or 25 and manual sensitivity around 26. Just a little program to play around with. HH :minelab:

I feel that it allows way to much ferrous, I have only dug 2 coins that were ever above 18 on ferrous side, and I have dug 100s of those signals. Like I said it just doesn't work for me, some people love it. I still keep it in my saved user modes and "try it" every now and then. But most of the time I like more disc

I think way to often folks are afraid to use much disc for fear of loosing coins but the E-Trac was designed to work best with a fair amount of disc.Just because a coin hits ferrous 20 something in an open pattern does not mean it will be disced out with a more closed pattern like the coins mode. I have tested this out on many occasions and all the more wide open patterns did was give me a lot more unwanted noise in my public parks and the like here in SW MO.

I do think you guys are thinking of 2 different programs, grouser is thinking about andy's old coin program in his book and Goes4ever the program that opens up to line 27 that was posted here awhile back(just the way I see it, I could be wrong ).I have been useing andy's program that opens to line 27 and find I get more depth and just seems to hit on targets better than the standard coin program.

I use the old coins program (page 113) with the nickle area opened up just a little. I dont think you will miss any solid hit copper or silver coins with the program and you dont have to listen to all the music. Nickels hit weird sometimes with low ferrous #. When you get use to the machine you can open it up if you like but I find I still use this pattern in a new area.
