And the winner is.......

Nope----As I said, not the way I seen it AT ALL!-----I no longer have a Deus but it CERTAINLY isn't because of what you are alluding to.-----Has more to do with being robbed blind last January & among many other things stolen--being robbed of our two Deus detectors.------The Deus is an effective detector--not perfect but what machine is?----Requires a lot of battery charging.-----Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention--it likes coins on edge!

Del Del Del..

I first became aware of the coin on edge problem with the Deus by reading an article by Des Dunne of Minelab fame, This was on the NASA Tom Forum where he goes by the name Des D...Then I tried it with a friend's Deus and saw with my own eyes and heard with my own ears that it did a double beep with a side to side sweep which is a normal response. But what happened next was shocking..a lengthwise sweep it didn't make a good report and sometimes going across it ,maybe made a burp or two but nothing I would dig. So Ya, I wouldn't have one of those overpriced machines, even if someone gave it to me.

Randy, Randy---I know you believe that mis-informed story with all your heart.----The way you have told it MANY times that your friend & his Deus couldn't hit a coin on edge (and in you sweet Kansas ground, no less).------I hate to burst your bubble---but---my Deus could KILL coins on edge--whether they be stuck in the top of the ground or buried.----And not just a huge quarter either but A DIME--A DIME also!! (on top, or buried)----Sorry but I couldn't keep my mouth shut this time--heard your story TOO many times!-------I don't know what you two were doing or if your friends Deus was "ka-put"---but your story is "just not right"!-----------Del

With your mighty Deus

Take a quarter, find a clean patch of ground, place the quarter 'on edge', push it into the ground with the top edge showing right on the surface, in plain sight. Try hitting it from all directions and see what happens.
I agree I have found many coins on edge that my Deus finds that even my Etrac has missed I know because I always go over every area with both machines.
And the Deus finds those on edge coins just fine I even found a quarter under a buried rock like 4" down that my Etrac missed!

I have found them on edge too.... another deus hater in the crowd. Its really funny though I had MOST ALL the best detectors in my hands and the deus is a leader in that pack right there with the ole ctx. If you want to get real snippy about the deus check out the new hf elliptical coil . It will hit a 7 1/2 inch gold hoop earring open mind you in the ground. Pull another vlf detector out your closet and match that. The at gold ,f 75, etrac ,were all silent as a church mouse on it.
