Just found the coin chart it's right on!!

As well as a thin silver ring , copper ring or washer , spark plug seal , brass grommet , even a flattened aluminum screw cap. The new designer beer brewers are also using some aluminum bottle caps that will ring a lovely 43,,,,just gotta dig em , you will come out way ahead if the day is nothing but 43s.;)

Ctx is same as etrac, 12-45 is silver dime. Worn silver dimes can be a couple numbers lower, doesn't happen too often though. IME even if it's hitting 12-43, 12-44 with a 12-45 in the mix it's still normally not silver.

I beg to differ Silver Seeker , I dug quite a number of silver items with both machines that were below 43 , not just coins but especially thin silver rings , pendants and chains. The clue is that the tones exceed the value of the VDI. Just like a regular aluminum screw cap will have that "scratchy" sound , when you have a 40 that sounds higher and sweeter than it should , you damn well better dig it!!

I was just referring to dimes. It can happen but it's been rare IME, in mild ground. Either way, while coinshooting, if it's got depth and sounds good above 32 CO I'm digging.

I've seen lowered Fe-Co numbers once in a while too, but there was ALWAYS a piece of ferrous somewhere near the coin...
