I just ordered a nice looking used 1266-x, it should be on the porch in a couple of days. Being that I am a big fan of the little coils I got one of those coming as well.

Ron,
You've got an f75 ltd and just bought a 1266 x. I've got a 1266 x and just ordered an f75 ltd. Keep us posted on how you do in the field using the old school machine compared to the new.
Thanks,
Bill from. Va.

I had the Camo F75 LTD...Sold it........Bought E-Trac...Might sell!?!?.............Have 1265X....Will NEVER sell!......
I couldnt get used to, and did not like the jumpy id numbers on the LTD. ***MY MACHINE***would never seem to lock onto anything with much consistancy, except silver quarters..... Found some nice-deep stuff with it(LTD)..... but I bought the e-trac and one had to go...

Well I am still waiting on my 1266-x, I was expecting it this past Monday but it didn't show. I am starting to think it's lost. If it does show up in a few days winter has set in so I can see a lot of air testing.

Note to M-scope I am having some of the same thoughts about my f75. That is also one reason I am looking at the 1266, my finds were a lot better and a lot more when I had my old 1265-x. I did some test garden testing and the f75 was hitting pretty good down to 8" the deepest coin we have planted.

Okay I finally got my 1266-x today, for an oldie it looks like it is in real good shape. I turned it on it responded to all targets here in the house. Now all I need some good weather and I will get it outside for little work out.

I'm "WV62" little brother which would make me "WV53" and if memory serves us right WV62 at one time owned a 1265X. (some confusion about the battery cover latch) So he's not new to running a Fisher 1200 series but he is new to the 1266 and its also been a long time sense he's ran the 1265, now I'm NEW at running the X series, I never had one until a few weeks back when my neighbor just walked over and gave me a 1266X (early version, white spider coil). Anyway my brother an I are shut in due to COLD weather and snow so were looking for operating tips for the 1266X,

Anyting much different than it (the 1266) and the 1265x ?
And for a new user like me whats some basic really good starting off tips?

Thanks

Well, I did it too!..Found a good-lookin 1266X and bought it!...My 65X isnt going anywhere though, with the 10" spider-coil, DEEPEST machine I've ever owned/experienced good finds with....The 66 should be here end of this week I hope!? Snowed in and cant use it, but I'm still pretty anxious to get my hands on it and start comparing the 2....My F75LTD was very close in depth (maybe even deeper?) but I relied too much on the VDI with it. And as I said previously, it was just way too jumpy for me. The E-trac IDs MUCH better for me, but **MINE**(my unit) just doesnt seem to find anything much beyond the 8" mark..Unless its a big hunk of something! I think it needs to go back and get a check-up!?...Anyhow, done babblin for now....

Still going, I got a good deal on a 1270 off ebay and I jumped on it. So as soon as the 1270 shows up I will have 4 detectors. I am thinking I will need to part with one or 2, my problem is I like them all. I think I need to find a real nice (big) diamond ring to pay for all these detectors:)

Ron

Hah!....I did it again,...I Found another 1265 That I COULDNT pass up. This thing is SO nice I dont even want to use it.... Now with 2 '65''s and a 66 and a few others around here, I wont have to buy another detector for the rest of my years....But I doubt thats gonna happen!?..

Okay, then its the same as mine. Its the early version 1266, it has two circuit boards while the later 1266's has only one. Let me know the outcome of the service when you get it back okay?

Thanks,
Mark

I hunt an area with Minelab Safari first then with my 1266x for small gold, deep lead toys, plated relics that the minelabs missed.Great combination.

Well I think M-scope, little brother (MarkCZ), and myself may have a screw loose when it comes to metal detectors:crazy:

I got that 1270 and it is real nice, it does not look to have ever been used for detecting. I am thinking this one will for sure be a keeper. Little brother and myself are talking about getting together and do some testing between all the detectors we have. I have been getting some tips from shooter and he speaks real highly of the 1270, and when shooter says something I take notice.

I kind of like the combonation deal, give you a little more hunt time and the area should be pretty clean when you get done.
