Hunting mostly the wet sand, almost low tide, First time out this year for me and a couple friends, at Ocean City, Maryland. Getting better at calling the targets in allmetal, but far from good enough not to check in discriminate. Thanks for watching....joe

Awesome video, thanks for posting it.

Great video. I am awaiting an Excal 2 and have been looking for all the info I can. The video really helped. Thanks.

Good video as always, especially the shadow towards the end, 9 minutes onward, looks like you got a true pirate hat on:laugh: (i realize its the camera and phones but it sure looks like a pirate hat to me)

What kind of digger is that, aluminum? Looks light the way you handle it. Thanks for sharing your video. HH

As always, a great video Joe.

I have been spreading the word about pin point on the Excalibur and I have seen some converts now seeing targets that they missed in discriminate. I kind of wish that I did not tell them about it because some are hunting where I hunt and they are getting what I would have got.

Oh well.

I've been water hunting in Florida for the past month and have paid for my Excalibur II 1000 and then some. With gold above $1100 an ounce and looking like it will go higher, I think I will hold on to my several rings till it goes above $1500. The water and air temps are just about at the point where people will be going in the water and I've noticed a lot of gold on a lot of people.

Next time you are at the beach, check out the bling people are wearing. It will stun you to see all that gold and diamonds just waiting to leap off their bodies when the combination of sweat, suntan lotion and salt water does its thing.

Thanks everyone for the postive feed back, johnTx that is the Babbs Alum., with the SS tip. I tested another scoop while I was there that is super lite that will be in production in a few months, but I promised the maker I would not take pic's or video of untill the time comes, it does remind me of Surfdiggers scoop, wet sand flys thur this baby..and it is very lite........Steve you lucky pirate, you've moved to florida on us....kered, your right!! In the shadows were all pirates.......thanks again..Joe

Great Video as always. Steve you're right about hunting in PP I tried to give you moral support. But apparently you me and OBN don't know anything except how to have fun and pay for it with our finds. I don't want to leave out Gene Edwards. Thanks again for the video. HH :minelab:

It's the doc's treasure screamer signal enhancer.........basically when you turn the threshold down it is like a slow decline, it gets to a point to where you can't hear it but still declining then it just slowly disappears, with the amp you are hearing more of this unheard area and there are faint signals/disturbance of the threshold that are missed without the amp.............I will try and work a diagram up of what I'm saying later...............joe

looking forward to seeing that new scoop. I've got an all stainless scoop that digs deep but it is heavy at 7 lbs....HH John

was that amp made for the xcal and how many wats is it ..i can't find the link to it

No this amp was not made for the excal. mostly used on Gold detectors for the faint signals. Also CJC uses one, and he talks a little about it in his books on the excal briefly, and that is where I picked up the Idea on AM/PP hunting and the Amp.

how hard would it be to connected to the xcal headphones i hace the yellow ones ...do i cut the wire and instal a jack on each end and then plog it in ?

That is what I did, cut the cable from the detector and installed a female speaker plug. I'm not very happy with that so I have plan's to just do a solid water proof line line strait to the amp, will be doing that soon. Will get you a couple picks off this week....It was not very hard, just when I cut the cord It was a little shakey but found it to be very easy after.joe

Joe,
Thanks for the video, I do enjoy them. When you talk with the manufacture of this new scoop suggest he make one with a handle that can be taken apart for travelling.

Joe - as always your videos are great training tools for everyone to learn from.
Allowing people to listen to the sounds is what separates your videos from all the rest!!
Keep up the good work - your production quality keeps getting better and better....

Nice video !!yes pp/am mode works awsome!!
Nice idea about the amp too, I was wondering how it worked,
again thanks for the help

Hi Joe... Great videos... I'm a bit confused... you say you only use the amp in AM not in disc mode. Do you turn it off and on all the time? I have a excal 1000 and was thinking of installing the amp. But wouldn't that make it non submersible? or do you only use it for land? Thanks and HH

Yes, In AM/PP only. Have not experimented in discrimination mode yet.

You can turn it on and off if needed. Most of the targets this year at the beach were shallow, 5 to 10 inch's deep. So I really did not need the Amp, but the Advantage to the Amp is not only the added depth but a wider Blade field of detection, SO most of this summer I did turning it on & off. Seems like a lot but it just becomes part of a Natural motion, along with switching from PP to Disc.

The Amp goes between the control pod and the headphones, my Amp connects at the headphones & is mounted there also, So I can go out chest deep in calm waters like the Chesapeake Bay. At the Ocean where swells can be very large I hunt from the Hightide line out to my knees, It has went under a few times in the saltwater, and is still surviving but I did silicon the complete insides of the Amp box, eletronics n all. I have shown this setup to a few hunters at the beach and they were amazed at the target they could not hear compared to there Excalibur II's .........One hunter called it Headphones on Steroids....................Good Luck.........Pm if needed.........joe
