Alaska Gold Dredging Adventure Part 1

I have trouble watching those mining shows for exactly that reason. They aren't about mining, their about idiots and there problems. Americans apparently don't want to see someone be stressful they want to see them fail or have trouble, Makes them feel better about their own lives, I would love to see some good videos steve. I plan on getting a better camera this summer and will do some vids about my mining adventures.

Yes, that would be a huge distraction, for me anyway. It takes a lot of focus and concentration to run a dredging operation from day to day. Of course, the day the camera man shows up would be the day with most problematic workings of the operation. Then, there's always the, "what should I say next" distraction while the camera is rolling. Just get in there and dig and enjoy Steve.

Hi Steve, This is how you can find the hot spots. http://www.goldgold.com/history-of-treasure-gold-detectors.html. Try it when you dredge, use a battery and two medal rods. Good Luck Flintstone

Hey Steve, it is good to have contact with someone who is actually mining in that area. I have been wanting to get to that area ever since I found out about it. Although I am just a couple of miles away, Chattanooga, TN, lol!, I sure hope to get up there in the next couple of years. It is one thing to read about people mining and to see their pictures, but something else to have contact with someone who is doing it. Look forward to your posts and information. Good luck.

It is a beautiful part of Alaska. The main problem is most of it has been claimed for decades, and most the rest has been claimed up in recent years. Most of the area is Wild & Scenic which means more than the normal amount of restrictions. There is a public area on Jack Wade Creek but it is non-motorized only. Great place to visit just for the visiting but getting gold there is not easy and getting harder every year.

All the best to you...you lucky bas-ard!!
I could only wish that I could devote full time to gold prospecting...

May your sluice be filled with gold....

I have been fine-tuning the original post here at the location above as I think of new stuff.
