Why use ferrous? Doesn't that cause Ferrous to ring high tone?[/quote

No the opposite, ive just gotten used to it. I was digging up more iron in Cond I have an E trac as well and I run that on Cond.

Why do you use ferrous on one but conduct on E trac?

I was digging more iron in Cond than I was in the ferrous setting because in ferrous it produce a lower sound for more of the iron than the Cond. I can then discern if I want to dig up a good sound based on the audio or pass on the target because Ferrous is not 100% foolproof, albeit it is good for me, regardless of which of the two that you choose, you still get Cond's high pitch sound. So it is more of a numbers game for me it reduces unwanted signals more in essence.

The Etrac is a completely different machine from the Explorer and I use the multi tones and the Cond works better for me. I am able to hear the high tones better.

Yea, I switched to Ferrous to hear the low iron nails. It is always nice to have options.
