Yesterday, in between rains storms, jkline and I hit the lawns once again. Both of us were using smaller coils so the pace was much slower. Not a real big day to post about but the small stuff is just as fun to post as the big stuff!
I ended up nearly homeless and destitute in the coin department but as we started winding down and nearly back to our vehicles the pace picked up. I started hitting clad in short order and recovered 70 cents quickly. One quarter signal tho was a surprise!
Turned out it was two silver ring bands tied together. At first I thought it was some type of a link holding them but when I got home I discovered it was two links together holding each ring separately so most likely being held by a necklace. I think one is for a her and one for a him due to slightly different sizes, both are matching designs. There are no marking on the band to confirm if its sterling, and each one has been soldered to fit. I’m leaning towards homemade crafted but will need to check if 925 or not. First double ring find!
Just earlier I did pull up a small military button that so far I cant locate info on. Its smaller than a dime and the back post is threaded. (Thats the best photo I could get). Jeff gets the confirmed silver find with a nearby ‘55 Canadian dime.

This Adlawn you hunt is a bounty of treasure!!! Amazing amounts of treasure you guys find from this place. I need to find an adlawn 🤣

Couple of neat finds. A quarter signal on those rings strongly indicate silver particularly since both were together. Kinda looks silver, too. HH Jim Tn

nice finds

Interesting finds there.
That military piece is odd… never seen that kind of attachment.
I’m guessing it is not for clothing.
I may have found the answer…look up officer’s Service caps…. These attach to the sides of it I believe from what see.
They are used to attach the chin strap to the hat band.

FWC, I think you have solved that one! The insignia does match and the size would be really close. A button I found earlier was identified as if the eagle is looking right it was 1859 to 1941 and the other way 1941 to present (or vice versa). No idea if Officer or Non Com tho.

Earthly, I suspect if you check with Facilities Maintenance at a local university/college and ask if given written permit as an activity, and abide by whatever if any restrictions, you could access the same type treasures.
