Wanted to say a quick "hello" to all. I have a hunting partner who's a member here, and she sent me the link (lol, so you all can blame her :bouncy:). We'd met on another forum, and live close enough that we can hunt together (she's nice, and fun to hunt with, but I'll deny ever saying that, lol). I'm 50, was a self-employed HVAC Contractor until injured in an accident 5 years ago. I use an Ace 250 and Auto Max PinPointer I got from Kellyco.

Have had alot of fun on the few times I've gotten out to hunt, since getting the Ace in August. Managed a fair anount of clad, 1 silver dime, 4 rings, about as many tokens, and a couple of old finds.....as well as the "usual" amount of trash, but it's all fun. Looking forward to locating some older ground to hunt and some older finds. I think I'd seen a familiar screen name or two here as well.

I look forward to spending time on the forum & looking around, which I haven't had the chance to do yet.
Smitty.

Welcome Smitty, Oh now he says I'm nice, just wait,he'll tell ya later how I pushed him down to get a large cent, lol. Glad you joined and I look foward to many more fun hunts together.
Your hunting partner abnd friend,
Terri

Welcome to the forums, lots of good people here with a load of information. . Now thats funny, we're all hunting buddies until someone finds something nice then it looks like a rugby match.

lol....well Terri, since you brought-up the story of knocking me down to get the only good find of the day.....:starwars: It was a story I'd fabricated.....atleast that's what Terri told me I had to say, or I'd get it again :punch: Hopefully the weather will hold-out for our hunt next week......I put my 1st aid kit in the truck....hahaha!

Hi Ron, yep, matter of fact I'm just about 25 miles NE of Indianapolis. Well, tell the kids another Hoosier said hello. lol, I think most of us "seasoned" (old) Hoosiers have been guilty of singing that song atleast once!

Thanks for the welcomes
Smitty

OK....everyone familiar with the ABC Wide World of Sports? You know, the "Thrill of Success" and the "Agony of Defeat"? Well......Terri made me the guy spinning off the end of the ski-ramp :stretcher:

lol, see Terri...I wasn't ever going to bring that story up again. It was just a horrifying event in my life, a near-death experience some would say, that my mind had chosen to block-out.......now you've forced me to re-live it again......:look: I'll have to snip the fingers off the end of your gloves.....you think your little pinkies were cold last hunt......I'll teach 'ya :poke:

My thanks too for the welcomes.
Smitty

Welcome, you are my kind of hunters lots of goofing around. That makes for some good hunts and lots of memories. I am also new to detecting again. Just started 3 summers ago. Hope you have lots of good hunts and fun in the years to come... Jer

Welcome Smitty, from a 42 year old fellow Hoosier, from the Tri - State area. (Huntingburg) Although, I now sometimes find myself wondering why in the heck I came back up here from my cozy little spot in Florida.:rage: Must be that Hoosier hospitality that lured me back.

HH,
Bill

Thanks againl for the welcomes. Of course I kid Terri about knocking me down, it was just my way of getting even for her having the find of the day. I was happy for her for finding it. We have fun hunting, something we both enjoy. I think her hubby is glad to have someone to keep her out of his hair for awhile  I've tried to get him to go with us....but he doesn't share the interest. Both nice folks.

I'm anxious for our next hunt coming up this week. We'd hunted an area last week that we'd both found a good amount of clad in, and we're hoping it might contain a piece of jewlery or two as well. Either way, I don't think either of us mind digging clad, I think last hunt we were pocketing it as fast as we could dig it. With winter approching, it's time to get in those last few hunts of the year.....lol, I'll see how "tough" of an MD'er she really is when it gets cold. Better get out the warm clothes girl...........

Smitty
