G'day Butch.
I was using an X-Terra before I bought the Ace. The first 8 hours were frustrating, but after that, things really started to improve. After 40 hours of use, I found that I started to be quite proficient with it. I found that the hardest thing to adjust to, was how load and blunt the tones are on it. Bit of a culture shock. The secret of getting the most out of this machine, is getting familiar with all the tricks that you can get up to with it's pinpoint. With some practice, you can really get it to talk to you. Pinpoint off the 12 o'clock position of the inner coil to get most of that information. Listen for how it fades on different targets. Also check targets out with a side to side side of the pinpoint. Practice at home with targets that you can see.
Good luck.
Mick Evans.

Great story Don and oh so true. A long time friend of mine lost an heirloom ring ( worth $2000 ) while doing yard work, that her 100 year old mother had given to her and she was frantic when she called me. I loaded up and rushed over to her house and located her ring in about ten minutes. She jumped up and down, squealed, and just about hugged me to death. All the payment I needed.
