ACE 250 trial run

Got home and put my new ACE together, turned her on and did some air tests. With the 6.5x9 coil on full sensitivity I got consistent readings on coins at 6 + inches which is about what I was expecting. Put on the 9x12 coil at the same sensitivity and got about 2 more inches on coins, switched to relic mode and tried a 58cal. bullet, picked it up at 9 inches. Picked up various buttons at 7 inches. Took it out in the yard where I had buried a Quarter, dime, nickle and a penny at 6 inches. Got inconsistent readings, it picked up the coins about half the time. I dug the coins up and buried them at 5 inches, had no problem finding them.
As for performance, the pinpoint feature worked OK, the target ID worked good at shallow depths. The depth indicator worked OK also. I can't believe how light this machine is, it is like night and day compared to my old Compass Relic Magnum. I could swing this thing all day. Its going to take some getting use to because I forget about the readout, I am use to just searching by tone and not looking at a readout screen. Overall I am satisfied with the ACE and glad I bought it and I am sure with a little practice I will be able to get a lot more out of this machine

:usaflag:It could be that your inconsistant readings were due to your sensitivity being maxed out. I usually set mine at 3 or 4 and have great results. I think Garrett recommends 4 or 5...good luck !!

Good luck with your ACE
It took me a while to figure mine out
but now i reallly enjoy using it

Let us know how ya do

To start out put it in coin mode and leave it there. Set your sensitivity at four bars and leave it there. Your success should improve a bit.
