ACE 250 settings for wet sand and water hunting

dabbie1

New member
Guys I have tried this and it works with out giving any false signals in wet sand and water hunting.Set sensitivity to four bars, set discrimination to notch out all to left of nickel.Works great.HH Wayne

Thats the way I hunt all the time,,,on land. And it them settings don't work for me when I hit the sand,,wet or dry!! If you are not getting false signals,,it must be different types of sand that makes the difference. Being flat is a huge difference,, and the depth of the sand,,what type of mix it has.

The beaches around me are deep light sand,,no mix,, and have foot prints all over it,,, and is very rough. 2 bars of sensitivity is max. But in zero disc it goes deep.

When I hunt a beach it is usually for jewelry,,,the Disc needs to be turned down. At least include 1 bar below nickle,,,,there are many small rings that read right in that area. When I beach hunt,,its zero Disc!!! Sensitivity at 2 , 3 or 4 depending on the sand . Usually 2 though.

I suggest you do some air tests with small gold rings on the Ace. You will see what size rings are lost below nickle. They are bigger than what I like ,,,but forced to eliminate them on land hunts,,just to much trash falls in that range.
