Ace 250 metal detector stands

I grew tired of cleaning my Ace 250 every night after I arrived home from a long day's detecting. So I thought for awhile, looked around and saw folks building Metal Detector stands for other detectors..Just not for my Ace 250..So i went shopped around came up with parts and made a stand for the Ace 250..It sits in front of the Box and doesn't get in the way of your swing. It snaps on and off and fits very tightly. It keeps the detector off of the ground and won't fall over. Comes in very handy when you are digging targets..No more mud and dirt on your machine. I have them For sale if you want one. Comes in Black...PM me if you are interested in one. I promise you will love the stand. It works like a charm..I am posting pricing in the Detector Accessory Section. zaxfire69

I too was tired of my Ace tipping over so I took a different approach in modifying mine.
I had a thin piece of plexiglass in the garage so I cut two pieces about six inches long that are the same width as the little stands that are part of the Ace. The part of the Ace I am referring to are where the Gattet decal is located in your picture.
I just drilled a couple holes through the plexiglas and the detector stand pieces and used a couple small bolts and nust to join the pieces together. This made the stabilizing footprint aabout 8 inches wide instead of the three or so inches the Ace originaly had.
Took just a couple minutes, added only grams in weight and works like a charm.

I understand GordyGroover. Only thing would that mess up your warranty? I didn't want to drill or cut anything on the detecter fearing it would void my warranty. I can see where adding that bigger footprint would help out bigtime. Great idea.

NICE JOB !!!

If there was a warranty issue, I would be really surprised.
The holes drilled are not going to affect the electrics in any way and The cuff part of the detector would probably never see a Garrets repair shop anyway. Any service needed would be involving the coil or electronics power unit and those would be the only things that would have to be shipped in for repairs.

:usaflag:Still don't see it in the detector accessory classified forum. How long ago did you post it?

It should be there. Let me make sure. They are $20.00 shipped anywhere in the United States. Paypal is zaxfire@cableone.net Just send your address with payment.

Come on folks. I have a few more left before I have to make another run. Also have an auction on Ebay if you like that route. Eveyone I have sold to has really been impressed with the stands. Said they look like they were factory made.
