About the Ace 350.....

Yeah I was hoping if they came out with a tweaked 350 that they would really upgrade it but it never happened and the slight frequency change ain't nothing to shout about. They only bumped it up a couple of degrees. I was hoping they would come out with multiple adjustable frequencies so one could hunt for anything anywhere but that ain't going to happen either I guess. I have an idea they will probably come out with another machine later in the year, probably a high end detector. I can't imagine after all this time that the 350 will be their only offering. Will be nice if it happens.

When will any units be available for the field testers. Steve said it would be awhile. Shouldn't they already be in the hands of the tester if the intro date is just around the corner?

I think the coil would probably make more difference than the slight change in frequency.
Also, Garrett states the the frequency change would enable it to detect smaller objects
vs the 250. But the 250 is already very good at detecting small objects, even when using
the large 9x12 coil. I've found several BB's, and also tiny slivers of metal using the 250 and
the 9x12 coil.
I'm not really a nay sayer, it's just that for my uses and the ground that I usually detect,
I don't think the changes to the low end of the scale will really make too much of a difference
for me. If I were just starting out, I'd probably go for the 350 if I didn't already have the 250,
much like I went for the 250 vs the 150 when I bought mine.
I imagine if I ever do upgrade, it would be more to a mid range machine like the 1500
or whatever. And I'm in no mad rush to do that, being as I've had good performance out
of the 250. Part of that is probably due to having all three coils that they sell. It's been
pretty versatile. Also, I'm in no rush to buy any of the newer 3rd party coils. Many seem
overpriced to me vs what I paid for the Garrett 9x12 coil.
I'm so used to the 250, I feel fairly confident with it, even going against the higher end
machines. A lot of it is the driver, rather than the machine.. :detecting:

Thanx for the update Brad!! I've got my 350 pre-ordered and am eagerly awaiting its arrival. I can't wait to get out with it and prove all these pooh-poohers and naysayers wrong.

Good morning

The answer to your first question is that the ACE 350 should be available in stores and to purchase online on September 15, 2010.

The ACE 350 will have a introductory special package once it is available. The special will be available until December 31, 2010. It will be the same price as the standard ACE 350 but in addition to getting the ACE 350 you will also received a Stainless Steel Treasure Digger, Treasure Pouch and a Environmental Cover-Up. I also just pre-ordered my Ace 350. No matter what anyone says about the Ace series. They are designed for someone that just wants to learn detecting with something better than a Bounty Hunter.
I 'm been detecting for fold with a Minelab 2100V2 for awhile and just wanted something quick and easy to play at the park, beach or in the woods.
I think the 350 for the price will keep me happy.
The increase in frequency and for sure the DD coil will be great.

Another newbie here from NJ. I have also pre-ordered the Ace 350 and I am really looking forward to receiving it. Hopefully it will be around Sept 15 like Garrett has stated.
