A Windy Day On Bear Den

She was an obnocious drunk and not my favorite person.
I worked third shift, which means I got home from work at 7am. My wife worked, which the B***h knew but it did not stop here from calling my house at 11am. "Is Carol there" she said in her miserable voice.
I told her hell no and asked if she didn't realize that it was the middle of my night and Carol was at work. She said, "So what? I want to leave a message" I hung up on her.
Next night while at work, at about 1:30 am I called her us. Through a groggy drunken haze she answered the phone with an Huh????? I said im my most cheerful voice that she might call her sister now as I was sure she was home. I can not repete here reply here but it got worse the next three nights when I did it again.
She never called me again in the middle of the day.
Heck I might as well tell another thing that cow tryed to pull on me.
I was over at my inlaws and she was parked behind me. I came in and asked her if she would kindly move her car so I could leave.
She threw the keys at me and told me to move it myself, in her normal nasty way. I smiled and said sure.
I went out and backed her car out, drove it two blocks down the road and turned right, contimued for another couple blocks and turning left, continued to the football field. There I left her car and walked back. I went in the house and tossed that smurking wench her keys. With a big smile said, "Poor baby didn't wear himself out moving the car did he?" I smiled and said no, and left.
It took her two hours to find the car. She called our house but we didn't answer the phone. She was pissed.
The dummy never won with me but she tried a few times. Dumber than a box of rocks

It was Matthews' top line bow...I think it is a Legacy.
Tom and I both shoot Matthews and love the smoothness of these precision instruments.
I had a friend of mine say to me last Sunday, "I bought me one of those new Switchbacks." I asked if he had worn his Legacy out yet and he stated that he had not. Now, to my way of thinkin, if a bow won't shoot straight for eight or ten years and deliver at least 260 fps consistently, then I need to change brands!
I shot the Switchback two weeks ago but could not tell any appreciable difference. I think all the major manufactures have to have a "new" and "bigger and better" model out to keep the revenues coming in. It's just business--but not for me. My Legacy will be the last bow I will buy for a long, long time. It is THAT quiet, smooth and good.
If the Indians had had this bow or one similar, gr, gr grandpaw would have had a MUCH tougher go of it back then!!!
Thanks for postin'

but my wife can not travel and cannot manage on her own at this time.
We are both unemployed and on a shoestring. Did not want to have to say that, but the truth is better than evasion. Thank you truly for the invite though, that is very kind and so typical of the wonderful folk on this forum and i must also admit that you are all a form of therapy that works better than drugs! <img src="/metal/html/clap.gif" border=0 width=20 height=30 alt=":clap"> <img src="/metal/html/clap.gif" border=0 width=20 height=30 alt=":clap"> <img src="/metal/html/clap.gif" border=0 width=20 height=30 alt=":clap">

Windy days makes it easier to move around without being detected, but it also serves to put the game on notice. They are more 'wired' in windy weather, it seems.
Concerning the decoy, last year I saw a couple of birds on the far hill about 250 yards from me. It was in the winter and (of course) no leaves to hinder the view. I called and they ignored me. But I had a string on my decoy that made it 'dip' like it was feeding. Fred, one twitch of that fireline and it turned the birds on a DIME. They came like THEY were on a string.
I spend a lot on time in the woods and not much time on the yard <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D"> ), but as a result, I have been privileged to see these magnificent birds 'up close and personal.' I have noticed the little things they do to communicate, with their body language.
For instance, if I am able to watch birds for five minutes of so, I can almost guarantee that one or two of them will rear up and stretch their wings. Along with 'wing fliting' as they walk, it seems it signifies that they are content and feel secure.
Several times I have seen a gobbler approach and the hen, although out of sight, will flap both wings, like an ole barnyard rooster does before he crows. The birds can detect movement from an extreme distance. They have 9 power (color) vision.
Even though they possess superior instinctive ablilities, thank God they never had an original thought and do not have the capacity to reason. That's why, even though they have vision nine times better than ours, they STILL can't comprehend my blind set up in the middle of an open field, or that they can be COMPLETELY fooled by a rubber decoy!
Thanks for posting, bud. <><

I likes just bein' there and bein' away from the grind.
I know that YOU know what I mean. I don't suffer from the "high lonesome" as some do.
I expect to spend a lot more of my time in the water and the woods, should I live long enough to retire.
Thanks for posting. Things thawing out up there yet???? <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">

she once helped chaperone my daughters, 10 years old, weekend campout. We got a call in the middle of the night that she was acting oddly. I was working so my wife went out there and she was drunk. For a three day campout, this was the first evening, she had taken three fifths of booze. She had drank the first one already.
She is lucky I was not the one to go out there.
I once put the top down on her convertable that was setting in our drive, during a snow storm and she got in and drove a half block before she noticed. I think the moron was sober that time too <img src="/metal/html/shocked.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":shock"> <img src="/metal/html/shocked.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":shock">

one day but getting this house ready for sale and moving north is a priority right now.
I gotta meet old Butch too <img src="/metal/html/grin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":grin">

...to settle down when birds approach. I have missed toms at 12 yards before, bouncing arrows off their backs!
When I see them approach, I have to remind myself, "Ok ole' boy. Take a deep breath, take your time. Let them approach and get settled in. Pick a spot (don't aim at the whole bird, but maybe a single feather in the area I want to hit) and
s s q u e e e e z z z the shot.
Thanks for posting. Ask Linda about her new 'toy.'

when. Butch lives about 25 miles from me, as close as I can figure! You all are welcome any time. I understand about priorities, though. We get these when we become adults! <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":(">
