A Windy Day on Bear Den
Well folks, Tom and I have missed you all in the past week or so, but we have been up to some really important "stuff." Spring turkey hunting in the Arkansas Ouachita (Caddo for "good hunting grounds") [pronounced Wa'-shi-taw] Mountains.
I heard the wind howling before I even got out of bed. I knew the day would not be the best for chasing ole

Seein' as how I have not mastered the 'multiple image' posting yet, here ye be the only way I know how.

More to come (the best part, methinks).
Last spring, I hunted all week and didn't score at all. I happen to limit out (2) in the fall, and now this one.
But it "ain't" about the harvest of meat.
I gotta get some sleep. Work tomorrow after 9 straight days away from the grind. <><

understand it is quite a feat to get one, even with a long gun. 42 of them? Man you have it perfected.
I know nobody up here that hunts Turkey with a bow. They might but none that I know of. It seems like a tough way to hunt but you seem to have the patience it takes. Lots of hours in a blind!
Sounds like a good time

I find it interesting how you modified the decoy. I have found that game are more cautious on windy days, guess that they loose some of their survival modes...like their ability to hear properly. Thanks for sharing this most interesting story. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas)

and made me feel like I was right there at camp, great story Johnboy,......BUT.........still have not found time to call your sister????

I really missed you two turkies! Glad you are back safe and sound and had a good hunt!

I "acquired". I'll give it to you and then you can read up on it and explain the multiple photo, since I can't get it yet, right Royal?
Beautiful bird........it would be hard for me to kill it, but since I know you and Lil Brother eat what you kill, no harm done. What about a photo of you at camp???????? Gotta go to work now, call me at the office in about thirty minutes, or on my cell!

"hows the fishing?" i always tell them "fishing is great"! catching is poor though
That 2-3 hour time difference between us can be confusing, it was only 10pm here
Looking forward to the rest of the story, oh and......call your Sis
