A puzzler

I found this in Arkansas and looking to see if anyone knows what this is, it's brass and some sort of badge maybe postal , political,or military,is my guess, any ideas would be appreciated,thanks

I noticed the sack as well it was 10 inches deep, could it be masonic, it's a head scratcher for me, ty you

Looks like a print block to me.
There appears to be some holes for nailing it to a block of wood.

Ty so much, I thought that too but my dad dismissed that theory, my great grandfather was the local newspaper editor, it makes sense to me,ty so much

What we dont have is dimension of the object. It could be 6x6” or is could be 1x1”. Size does matter…..

I see a man sitting in a chair with a leg crossed over the other. On the right side of the pic….. is that an upside down goblet or wine glass?????

3 1/2 inches tall 2 1/4 inches wide, looks like a letter in his hand the other hand is possibly a wine gobblet ty for looking
