A little poll - how many are going to give the 350 a shot or wait for the AT PRO?

True all metal would be nice. But.. If it's like the Ace 250/350 as far as the pinpoint mode,
the pinpoint mode can act as a true all metal mode. That's what I do on the 250..
Works well, the only hang is you have to keep the button pressed down, and maybe
retune every once in a while.

I think we have to give Garrett some credit here. There are 40 iron rejection steps. The pro audio is like what is found in a true all metal machine. Garrett just might have decided that running the iron disc at zero with pro audio on that there isn't a real difference in performance. This could possible be more new technology? They say it can be used for prospecting. So let's give it a chance to do so. But let's face it - if your a hardcore prospector you would be using a dedicated machine for that. But for an all around machine at this price it has a ton of features! And it has been determined regardless of what has been said - it is waterproof.

Kenny, I'm remaining open minded about it and I totally agree that we ultimately need to take a wait and see before anything can be concluded. In fact, I asked a similar question on Tom's forum several days ago about the apparent absense of true AM and wondered if perhaps Garrett had found a new way to totally circumvent the need but that hasn't been answered yet. All I'm saying is if that is not the case, adding that ASAP would be huge IMO and complete the package. Time will tell.

think it going to to be the A.T. but hope garrett going to ship the international A.T. like they said they were going to ship the euro 300 to canada as they say it work better on our coin that would be cool and water proof would be nice to.

If you want something that is that sensitive and deep, by the Infinium PI. It will give you all the true all metal you could ever want.

I had an Infinium for a spell but only used it on land in a few iron mineralization hell locales. Of course you're right..the Infinium offers all the AM (pulse) performance one could want. I'm specifically looking for a single freq VLF tone ID detector for wading, hence the interest in the AT and if it had true AM as well as disc, (and maybe we'll find there will be a paradyme shift) my needs would be pretty much totallyfilled. All I can do is stay tuned. Thanks for the suggestion, John.

We in a far better state over here in Oz. Actually, where I live, the GFC was hardly felt because we've been in an almost constant drought for 13 years and have been operating with the hatches battened down already, so even though I work for a major exporter (meat products), it seems to be, just another bump in the road. We are one of the few abattoirs in the country to still be operating on a full time basis, although we we forced to shut down one of the shifts and work our hours differently. The drought is finally over and we are hoping get back to normal in about 6 months.
The local building industry only got effected for a short time when the banks started getting nervous about lending, but even that past after a few months. Fortunately, our banking sector has it's affairs in a far more responsible state and our government was actually 'in the black' for a change which has saved us from the hardship you guys are in. As an interesting aside, our lending practices are totally different to the States as well. A lone is against the person and not the property, which makes for a totally different playing field to what you'd be accustomed. The only catch is, the house prices are way too high. The average price of a house in Sydney, is $500 000! We have the lowest prices in the state here in Dubbo with our prices half of that. I don't know how folks can afford to buy when starting from scratch.
I hope thing do get better for you. It must be tough with the way your welfare and medical situation works. I couldn't imagine what you'd do if you ran out of unemployment payments! Unheard of here.
Mick Evans.

The point is - janitors make far less than framers. HAA. If I was still working as an Exterior Interior Construction Specialist I would be knocking down about $45 an hour.

I think I'm going to spend the extra 100. and get the MINELAB SOVEREIGN GT. It may not be waterproof, but it will out perform in salt water and wet sand. I never go deeper then below my knees anyways. I try to hunt the water when the tide is down so i don't need to go out so far, i have had a close encounter with a shark, and won't do that again.
