A group of 1858 Indian Head Pennies

Here's some examples of the proof sets that the designer created as possible patterns for the 1859 cent. Yours somehow ended up in circulation or in someone's pocket for many years when they were never meant to be touched. I've seen stories of some of these patterns being minted by private mints for certain higher-ups as show-and-tell items. The proofs are worth thousands but I don't know about circulated specimens.

They are real, they are pattern coins there were several different patterns coined prior to the production of the coin in 1859. Do a search for pattern coins & you will find alot of info on them, & yes they are $$$$$$$ THey also should be thicker like a flying eagle as well.
