About 3.5 months out now. :(

Me too.

I'm hoping the fall rain will be enough to soggy up the soil enough to make it stick before mowing is back in full swing. Right now the grass is dry and not growing, so the mowers have nothing to mow.

Digging in dry is not fun. However, i find that digging a deep huge plug (cantaloupe size or bigger, 6 inches deep) does not have the same ill effects. The rule I stick to, however, is if my first plug doesn't sit like it should or doesn't stay together, I only dig where there isn't grass.
