A Direct Question To Minelab On Facebook About CTX 3030 Updates!

I'd be perfectly happy if they would add "Threshold Pitch" like on the Explorer and Etrac. Then silver would give that flutey warble on my 3030.

I must admit that I do miss that sweet silver tone on my CTX.

To the original posters point, I too am surprised improvements/refinements haven't been made. I actually sold my CTX a while back and was just visiting the forum to see if anything new had been delivered. I can see he was little terse with his message but it is from frustration with ML not communicating in the first place. In past years there were problems with service in the US so ML finally established a service center. For my part when I had a problem with my battery on my new CTX the guy on the phone treated me like I was an idiot. Hey, what do I expect for $2500? It eventually got replaced but I was really hoping I would never have to call them again. In my opinion the ML response to the original complaint of "We constantly pass this information onto our engineering team in Australia. We understand your frustrations. Please stay tuned to the Minelab website for future updates and product releases." is pure lip service since they obviously haven't listened to or acknowledged their customers suggestions for 3 years. They charged top money for their units so I expect more from them. But after seeing things haven't changed I won't buy another ML product.

Complaining to a facebook face is completely useless. Facebook is purely an advertising OUTLET for the company, they don't look at anything people post to it. Companies hire people to run their social media and make sure they keep putting up blurbs and pics etc.so you keep seeing their name all day long. That person doesn't care if you don't like the detector, chances are the person running the ML facebook page has never touched a metal detector.

I'm thinking about purchasing one , but from what i'm hearing would that be a wise thing to do?

absolutely!

The thing is that people love to complain about the tiniest things. The CTX is hands-down one of the very best metal detectors available today

No if you are the last one on the block to get one.
Yes if you want to find what you and a everyone else has missed.
I went through the same inner war with that same decision and
have never regretted a moment since I got mine

J,

You're wrong on that score. The Facebook side of things is run mostly in the Chicago office with some input from two other locations by Minelab personnel.
But you're right on the other score with current personnel not being at all familiar with detectors.
They laid off all the folks who [used know] detectors, including a person who was actively in charge of that side of things.

On the odd occasion I speak with both ex-personnel and active employees.
Frustration was / is always prominent in people's minds because it was so difficult to get anything done I.e. "Updates Etc"
But, rumour has it that might change?
We'll see.
That's precisely why the likes of "XP" and "Nokta/Makro" are "making hay" now because not only do they listen to Customers, they bring about changes and improvements quickly.
XP have just opened a brand new factory and are planning some great things with the "V4" update Coming Soon.

Good Hunting
