A different kind of coin

Got out for a 2 hour hunt, stayed until dark. Ended up with more clad than I thought I would. Tried for some gold by digging quite a few lower conductors, but no gold or silver today.
It was getting dark so I was thinking of ending the hunt. I was making my way back to my truck, hunting a diagonal grid, trying to find something other than a penny. I don’t like to end my hunt with a penny, so was hoping something would show up on my final pass back to the truck. There was a piece of trash in my path, ran the F70 over it and was surprised to hear a solid response, 99 VDI. What the heck !
Picked it up, it was a plastic envelope like what you would get from the coin shop after purchasing a silver round. Seemed heavy and looked like it contained a big colorful coin of some kind. The light was low so put it in my pouch to check out later.
Turns out to be a coin from a company called Symbol Arts. I had never heard of them before but they have some product on Amazon. No markings as to what the metal is, but after reading some info on the website (www.symbolarts.com) I think it is brass. Sucker is heavy, 38 grams and very colorful on both sides. Looks like they are inexpensive around $9.95, and probably made in China.
Thanks for loooking, and Merry Christmas ! GL, HH.

Well a coin is a coin & a good one at that! I would say God knew you weren't satisfied so gave you a little treat! :giggle: Ma

I believe when our department went to a new custom badge design it was this company that manufactured them. I have the original can that the badge came in but cant check that until I get back home.

Nice ! It looks thin in the pictures but at 38 grams, it has to be quite large and thick.

It looks to be a little wider than a Peace silver dollar and 12 grams heavier. It’s a chunk, I think it is either stainless steel or brass with a protective overlay of some sort.

Unusual coin for sure, just proves what we say on the forum, you never know what's coming up next.
You got that right sl52,, this is what it looked like when I first saw it on the ground. Looks like a piece of trash. Only ran my detector over it cause it was right in front of me. If it had been 2 or 3 feet to either side, I probably would have ignored it.
