Well my hunt time is almost nonexistent these days with all that I have going on.

Dad is now doing dialysis every 2 hours or so...work is hectic...its hot...many acres to mow...parks and sites are depleted...and the Harley beckons.

I finally found 3 hours to hunt and my lady decided she would put a detector in her hands for the first time.

She decided on the EX2 because it matched her white shorts. :bouncy: :clapping:

No she wouldn't take her jewelry off... and no she wasn't crazy about getting her hands dirty...but hey...it was a good start...and I was thrilled she showed some interest in what I love.

She truthfully seemed to catch on very fast..and actually had a blast.

I walked a few feet behind her using my SE...and trust me fellers'...it was VERY hard to concentrate on hunting with her in front of me...if ya' know what I mean.

After a while I had her move over to a spot that had given up some coins in the past.

When she got a signal...I would go over and check it for her...then help her dig until she learned how to cut a nice plug.

Funny thing was...the last 3 times she called me over...I got absolutely no signal whatsoever when checking it for her.

I then realized I had forgotten to switch my probe off after digging my own hole earlier.
I TOLD you she made it hard for me to concentrate on hunting.:bouncy: :smoke:

She then moved to where she was literally walking behind me because she felt she wasn't getting enough signals.

I thought "what the heck does she think she's gonna' find walking in a spot I just went over"??

About 5 minutes later she called me back to check a signal...so I did.

I was shocked to hear a pretty distinct wheatie signal which I had walked over.

I then thought to myself..."Well if you had your probe switched off you would have heard it... you goof":clapping: :bouncy:.

She then bent down to dig the target...and Herky decided he would help her.

She popped out a wheatie...her first old coin...and on her first ever metal detecting hunt. I was very happy for her and it put a big smile on her face....but shortly after I took the pic she realized her fingernails were geting dirty.:)

After about 2 hours with the SE I had found a couple of wheaties...and Injun'...and a merc.

I then decided to use the E-trac and offered her my SE to use...but again I was told..."No...this one (EX2) matches my shorts":punch:

Before long the E-trac found me a wheatie from 8"...and the 4 leaf clover charm.

I then headed for the oldest spot where the good coins have come from...but are now under a lot of fill dirt.

Within 30 minutes the E-Trac sniffed out the Barber dime from right at 10" down.

All in all a great few hours...a very pretty lady...her first old coin...2 pretty silver ladies...a 4 leaf clover...some wheaties...and an Injun'

Nice hunt and good to see you get her to go detecting with ya.Also my wife says you should always be color co ordinated, geez. Anyway fun hunt for you two, if you get to NW Illinois give me a call Hardrock :minelab::thumbup:Hardrock

Bryce,

It sure is a rarity to find a woman who loves to detect and dig holes in the ground. :detecting: :yo:

Great pics, my friend. Take care, and just enjoy each time you're able to detect, whether you find something or not.

HH,

Congrats to you both. I have taken my wife a couple of times and always end up loosing her. Then I look out in the distance to see her digging away almost half a mile away. She really gets into it. Its just the convincing her to go thats the hard part.

I can get a can of spray paint that will do the trick:bouncy: :clapping:

As for the Harley...yep...we went on a nice long ride over the weekend and she really enjoys it.

I hope this post makes it before dad's computer kicks me offline again:biggrin:.

Every time I try ro respond to people...it boots me off before I hit "post message":crylol:

Oh well...time to start mowing dad's pasture. We got 3 days of rain on the way so mowing early this week:confused:

Take care my friend.

When you said a beautiful lady I thought you were talking about a beautiful seated liberty coin - I'm disappointed :(

(Yeah, right!!)

Good hunt and glad your beautiful wife supports you in your hobby. My wife of 33 years knows us men folks has to be chasin' sumpin' 'cuz it's in our blood and she is so glad for me that it is dirty fingernails and old coins instead of booze and other women.
