Well my hunt time is almost nonexistent these days with all that I have going on.
Dad is now doing dialysis every 2 hours or so...work is hectic...its hot...many acres to mow...parks and sites are depleted...and the Harley beckons.
I finally found 3 hours to hunt and my lady decided she would put a detector in her hands for the first time.

She decided on the EX2 because it matched her white shorts.
No she wouldn't take her jewelry off... and no she wasn't crazy about getting her hands dirty...but hey...it was a good start...and I was thrilled she showed some interest in what I love.
She truthfully seemed to catch on very fast..and actually had a blast.

I walked a few feet behind her using my SE...and trust me fellers'...it was VERY hard to concentrate on hunting with her in front of me...if ya' know what I mean.

After a while I had her move over to a spot that had given up some coins in the past.
When she got a signal...I would go over and check it for her...then help her dig until she learned how to cut a nice plug.
Funny thing was...the last 3 times she called me over...I got absolutely no signal whatsoever when checking it for her.
I then realized I had forgotten to switch my probe off after digging my own hole earlier.
I TOLD you she made it hard for me to concentrate on hunting.
She then moved to where she was literally walking behind me because she felt she wasn't getting enough signals.
I thought "what the heck does she think she's gonna' find walking in a spot I just went over"??
About 5 minutes later she called me back to check a signal...so I did.
I was shocked to hear a pretty distinct wheatie signal which I had walked over.
I then thought to myself..."Well if you had your probe switched off you would have heard it... you goof" .
She then bent down to dig the target...and Herky decided he would help her.

She popped out a wheatie...her first old coin...and on her first ever metal detecting hunt. I was very happy for her and it put a big smile on her face....but shortly after I took the pic she realized her fingernails were geting dirty.

After about 2 hours with the SE I had found a couple of wheaties...and Injun'...and a merc.
I then decided to use the E-trac and offered her my SE to use...but again I was told..."No...this one (EX2) matches my shorts"
Before long the E-trac found me a wheatie from 8"...and the 4 leaf clover charm.
I then headed for the oldest spot where the good coins have come from...but are now under a lot of fill dirt.
Within 30 minutes the E-Trac sniffed out the Barber dime from right at 10" down.

All in all a great few hours...a very pretty lady...her first old coin...2 pretty silver ladies...a 4 leaf clover...some wheaties...and an Injun'

Thanks for viewing and good luck on your next hunt.
