A 6 Ring Day:thumbup:

I had some running around to do in town today so the CZ-21 got to come along for the ride and I stopped at Elbow Beach on the way home for a little wet sanding. The 2nd target was a real shocker - as I washed the sand away and saw that the bottom of the scoop was full of gold.:yikes: Unfortunately, the watch turned out to be gold plated not solid but it sure was pretty gold plating. I also pulled 2 silver rings out of the wet sand and they both have that grey lacquer on them that indicates that they have been in the briny for a long time.

After a few hours of working the wet sand I headed for home, changed into the wetsuit and then headed back down to the beach but this time to Horseshoe Bay. The water was freezing but I knew that the sand had been stirred up by the high winds we have been experiencing lately so into the cooler I went. In the first half hour I hit another silver ring with the makers mark INKRAZING as well as a mood ring. Around that time my treasurehunting mate Lee arrived and I retreated to the beach to warm up a bit while Lee had a go at Davey Jones. After warming up for a bit I jumped back into the briny and promptly hit on the heaviest silver ring I have found in a long time (left side of pic below), this puppy is huge and would make an excellent knuckle buster.

The next target after the heavy silver ring was a low, faint signal and it sounded good enough for me to fight to get this one from way down deep.

A heavy lady's band, 14k yellow gold with 9 diamonds totalling .36 carats. I managed to hunt for another half hour before the sun went away and the cold really started to bite, so I called it a very good day and pointed the jeep for home.

Great hunt! Beautiful gold! Congrats! HH!

Normally I swing an Excal 1000 but it is on the fritz so I have been using the CZ-21 a lot lately. Ocassionally, I break out the Whites Dually if conditions allow for it. All of yesterday's loot was found with the CZ-21.

Cheers,

BDA:cool:

A fish sandwich at The Black Horse Tavern with a mug of rum - then surf pirating for this afternoons low tide, sounds good to me. There may be some thunder and lightning today though, why not fly in for the weekend and take your time looting.

Very nice... I wish our island was a little bit bigger. You seem to have a variety of decent spots to pick from. I have 7 mile beach, and only half of that is heavily populated. Then I have Rum point, but all I ever dig there is change. I know it's out there. Just can't seem to get the coil over it. I'm not complaining though. I like it here (aside from the crime lately). Only a few people here that actually use there detectors, maybe 4 or 5. I almost hit the jackpot the other day. This old lady comes running down to me on the beach and ask me if I would look for her ring she lost 3 days prior. Her husband, that had passed away, gave it to her and it meant a lot to her. So I looked for 2 1/2 hours, in and out of water.....No luck. I went to her condo to tell her I would come back and look some more later for it. She offered me her husbands old underwater metal detector.....Turns out she could not remember where it was, but had a hand full of accessories she offered. Turns out it was extra batteries, headphones and a few other pieces for a JW Fisher pulse 8. I have still been going out to that area looking for her ring and hoping she may have remembered where she put the MD. Although I would still look for her ring to return it, free MD or not. You can't tell me that wouldn't be a hell of a reward for a surf pirate. I'm going to check with her sometime this weekend just to see if she has had any luck on finding her ring. Unfortunately all I have dug there is aluminum.

You better hurry then, Mate. This stuff is going fast and I don't know how much more is left, after all it takes 23 years to make it.:lmfao:

I need to pick up some more today on my way to the beach.

Cheers Mate,

Hi bda; Great stuff there.Wish it was me but Im cabin bound till Sunday at first chance.Keep it up. PEACE:RONB

As Davey Jones once said : :biteme: :super:

bda: When you come across coins are they mostly Canadian and British? That island must see people from everywhere. I read your posts and envy your plight. Living in Bermuda. That's gotta be tough.

I watch the movie "The Deep" just for the scenery of the water. That and the famous wet t-shirt of Jackie B. (Wouldn't mind running a coil over that.)

Not as meager as my finds today, not even worth posting the little bits of silver I pulled today. I had to drown my sorrows by downing the last of the rum.:nopity:
Really have to make a run to the liquor store now.
